AIG Partners with B2X for Customer Care Support in Europe

B2X to Provide Door-to-door Customer Care for AIG-Insured Electronic Products

MUNICH – January  18, 2016 – B2X, the leading provider of customer care for smartphones, today announced that it is partnering with AIG to provide customer care in Europe, with initial roll out in Spain and Portugal. B2X’s door-to-door service will cover device repairs and replacements for European customers with electronic protection plans issued by AIG, one of the largest insurance companies in the world.

Insurance protection plans for electronic devices are a big market for insurance providers around the globe. The market is growing steadily in Europe and has more than doubled in the last 5 years amounting to an estimated $US 7 billion in 2015 (1). The overall market size for protection plans is currently around $US 30 billion globally.

Using its SMARTCARE Technology and global service partner network B2X will provide end-to-end customer care services for AIG-insured products. This includes B2X door-to-door services – picking up devices directly from consumer locations, transporting them to repair sites, recycling defective devices according to the European Environmental standards, and shipping replacement devices to customers.

B2X support for AIG insured products officially began at the end of 2015.
